At Mount Stirling Meadery, we craft premium Australian meads using the finest local ingredients, pure rainwater, and time-honoured fermentation techniques. Based in Queensland’s renowned Granite Belt region, our meadery is surrounded by rolling vineyards, cool-climate conditions, and a rich history of winemaking.
Our Region
Nestled at over 1,000 metres above sea level, the Granite Belt is one of Australia’s highest wine regions, offering the perfect environment for producing distinctive, high-quality mead. The region’s diverse flora, crisp mountain air, and cool temperatures contribute to the complexity of our honey and fermentation process.
Our Water
We believe that great mead starts with pure water. That’s why we harvest fresh rainwater from our cellar door and workshop roof, then triple-filter and UV-sterilize it to remove any impurities while maintaining its natural purity. This ensures every bottle of our mead is crafted with the cleanest, most pristine water possible.
